William Herbert Brown (1878-1959)
Herbert Brown trained in Glasgow. After serving in the RAMC during the Great War, he was chief of dermatology in the Victoria Infirmary of Glasgow until 1945, during which time he built up a large collection of clinical photographs of skin disease. He was a founder member of the North British (Scottish) Dermatological Society, and President of the British Association of Dermatologists.
William Frain-Bell
Bill Frain-Bell was Head of the Department of Dermatology of the University of Dundee and founded a national photobiology centre at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. In 1960 he reconstituted the Scottish Dermatological Society, and was elected its first President (1960-63), and was President of the BAD for 1981/82.

Norman Purves Walker (1862-1942)
Walker qualified in Edinburgh and trained in Vienna, Prague and Hamburg prior to returning to the city. His popular "Introduction to Dermatology" was first published in 1899, and ran to 13 editions over 30 years. He served on and became president of the General Medical Council, and advised the India Office regarding medical education, for which he was knighted.
